The scheme "Assistance to Scheduled Castes for Fisheries", with the component of Boat Net, introduced by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to increase fish production by rearing fish in reservoirs and providing employment to Scheduled Caste (SC) individuals involved in inland fisheries. Through this scheme, assistance is provided for boat nets, which are provided to Scheduled Caste fishermen and fish farmers. The scheme is implemented by the Commissioner of Fisheries, Government of Gujarat. Objectives:

  • To increase fish production by rearing fish in reservoirs and provide employment to scheduled caste (SC) people involved in inland fisheries activities.
  • To boost fish farming or fishing activities in freshwater bodies by scheduled caste (SC) fish farmers and fishermen.
  • Fishing in reservoirs, aquaculture in ponds, and catch from rivers increase fish production and boost inland fisheries through scheduled caste (SC) fish farmers and fishermen.
  • The main objective is to provide employment opportunities to Scheduled Caste fishermen in the state and increase fish production.

  • Tin Boat + Net: 50% subsidy on unit cost — up to ₹7,500 (Boat: ₹5,000; Net: ₹2,500)
  • FRP Boat + Net: 50% subsidy on unit cost — up to ₹15,000 (Boat: ₹12,500; Net: ₹2,500)
  • Can reapply for the same benefit after 6 years

  • Must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community

  • Can be an individual, society, SHG, association, reservoir lessee, or private unit

Registration Process:

Step 1: The applicant may visit and apply online at the I-Khedut Portal. Step 2: Click on 'Login' from the top right-hand side, then click on "Beneficiary Registration" and select any one from the 'Farmer' or 'Institutional' or 'Except For the Farmer' as the Beneficiary Type. Step 3: Enter the 'Company Name' and Address if you have selected 'Institutional' or 'Except For the Farmer' as the Beneficiary Type. And for all select the District, Taluka, and Village, choose 'what type of account holder you are?', enter your Account Number and Name, solve the Captcha, and click 'Save and Next'. Step 4: Enter your Mobile Number and E-mail address, click 'Send OTP', enter the received OTP, create and confirm a Password, solve the Captcha, and click 'Submit'.

Login Process:

Step 1: The applicant may visit and apply online at the I-Khedut Portal. Step 2: Click on 'Login' from the top right-hand side of the homepage. On the home page, click on ‘Schemes’ and then click on ‘Agricultural Schemes’. Step 3: Now select the scheme, click on the ‘Apply’ button, and an application page will open. Step 4: Click on the "Apply New" button and submit a new application. Step 5: Click on the "Update Application" button to add corrections to the application. Step 6: Once the application is done, confirm it. Step 7: Take a printout of the confirmed application.
