The scheme "Assistance to Scheduled Castes for Fisheries" with the component of "Fish seed Stocking", introduced by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to increase fish production by rearing fish in reservoirs and provide employment to Scheduled Caste (SC) people involved in inland fisheries activities. Through this scheme, 100% assistance for the cost of fish seed and transportation is provided to Scheduled Caste fish farmers and fishermen to boost fish farming and fishing activities in freshwater bodies. The scheme is implemented for the benefit of Scheduled Caste fishermen in the state. The scheme is implemented by the Commissioner of Fisheries, Government of Gujarat.
