The Deen Dayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India that provides financial assistance to voluntary organizations working for the education and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. The scheme was launched in 1999 and was revised and renamed in 2003.
Objective
- Create an enabling environment to ensure equal opportunities, equity, social justice, and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
- Encourage voluntary action for ensuring effective implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016.

- Grants for running special schools for children with intellectual, hearing/speech, or visual disabilities

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
- Organization must be registered (Societies Act, Trusts Act, or Companies Act Section 25) for at least 2 years

- Must not be profit-driven and must not discriminate on any basis
- Must have facilities, personnel, and experience to run the proposed project
- Must register on NGO Darpan portal and obtain a Unique ID before applying
