The scheme "Development of Brackish Water Aquaculture" introduced by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department, Gujarat, aims to enhance the income of brackish water fishermen by promoting modern shrimp farming techniques, improving disease control methods, increasing employment, and boosting shrimp exports. The scheme provides financial assistance in the form of subsidies for shrimp farm development, equipment purchase, and related activities.

- 50% subsidy on aerator purchase (unit cost ₹50,000) — once every 3 years
- 50% subsidy on new shrimp farm construction (up to ₹3.50 lakh per hectare) — once in a lifetime
- 50% subsidy on farm renovation (up to ₹10,000 per hectare) — once every 3 years
- 50% subsidy on bird/dog fencing (₹5,000–₹12,500 per hectare) — once every 3 years
- 50% subsidy on shrimp feed and seeds (up to ₹1.50 lakh per hectare) — once every 3 years

Step 1: The applicant may visit and apply online at I-Khedut Portal: https://ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in/ Step 2: On the home page, click on ‘Schemes’ and then click on ‘Agricultural Schemes’. Step 3: Now select the scheme, click on the ‘Apply’ button and an application page will open. Step 4: Click on "Apply New" button and submit a new application. Step 5: Click on the "Update Application" button to add corrections to the application. Step 6: Once the application is done, confirm it. Step 7: Take a print out of the confirmed application and submit Related Documents through to concern Taluka office.
