The "International Centre for Environment Audit and Sustainable Development (iCED)" was launched by the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, and the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. The iCED Internship Scheme offers a unique opportunity for students specializing in Ocean Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environment Audit, Environmental Economics, Environmental Law, Public Administration, Public Policy, Sustainable Development, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Architecture, Human Resource Management, Disaster Management, and related fields. This internship will focus on developing awareness about iCED’s work, with a particular emphasis on Blue Economy, Climate Change, and gender-related themes.
Duration:
The internship duration would be 2 months, which may be extended up to 6 months.
Number of interns:
Two interns from one Institution/University would be selected for internship.
Benefits
- ₹10,000 per month stipend (reduced to ₹5,000/month if iCED provides boarding and lodging)

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
- Indian national only
- Graduate student, or currently pursuing postgraduate or PhD studies in: Ocean Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Law, Environmental Economics, Public Policy, Sustainable Development, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Architecture, Disaster Management, Human Resource Management, or similar fields
- Must be from a university or institution of national or international repute
- UGC Junior Research Fellowship holders in these subjects are given priority
- Maximum 2 interns selected from any single institution
How to Apply
Application procedure.
Step 01: The student downloads the prescribe format of the application form.
Step 02: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 03: Student can email their applications in the prescribed format to: iced@cag.gov.in
NOTE: Application should be filled in by typing in the above Performa only. No other format will be accepted. Application filled by hand will not be accepted.
Submission of Assignments:
Students must share their work and collected materials with iCED in a logically classified manner, including a paper on how iCED/IAAD can use the material. Due to the mentoring provided, intellectual property rights will rest with IA&AD.
Selection Procedure:
A Screening Committee, nominated by the DG, iCED, will scrutinize all applications. Final selection will be made by a Committee of Senior Officers, including the DG, iCED.

Indian nationals who are graduates or pursuing Postgraduate/Doctoral courses in specified fields and enrolled in reputed universities/institutions.
Is there a preference for certain candidates?
Yes, candidates awarded "Junior Research Fellowship" by UGC for research in relevant subjects are preferred.
What is the application process for the internship?
Prepare the required documents, fill out the application form, and submit it to the specified address/email. The applications will be screened and selected by a committee.
What tasks will the interns be expected to perform?
Interns will assist in ongoing research activities, compile research-related inputs/analyses, assist faculty, develop content, update/modify/analyse databases, and prepare audit guidelines and objectives.
What happens if the internship tenure is terminated early?
The tenure may be curtailed/ended if the competent authority deems the intern's association not in the interest of iCED/IA&AD. The decision of the Director General, iCED, will be final.
Can the internship lead to a job offer?
The internship does not guarantee a job offer or assurance of a job with iCED or any office under the CAG of India.
What should be included in the research proposal?
The research proposal should contain the research plan, methodology to be followed, and timelines.
How will the work of the interns be monitored?
Weekly reviews will be conducted by Director (T&R), and the progress will be monitored by the Director General and Director (T&R), iCED.
What are the confidentiality requirements?
Interns must submit a declaration to respect and maintain confidentiality regarding the issues/information of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India and iCED.
Who will mentor the interns?
Interns will be mentored and monitored by the Director General and Director (T&R), iCED.
What should the intern’s weekly report contain?
The weekly report should detail the progress of work, tasks completed, and any challenges faced. It will be reviewed by Director (T&R).
