Jute Resource-Cum-Production Centre

The JRCPC scheme is an initiative by the National Jute Board (NJB) to set up jute training and production centres across India in collaboration with experienced agencies. It aims to promote jute diversification, empower women, and generate sustainable employment through the manufacturing of Jute Diversified Products (JDPs).

Bonafide Indian agencies such as registered jute entrepreneurs, NGOs, cooperative societies, federations, PSUs, exporters, and other organizations with at least three years of experience in jute-related training, production, or marketing are eligible. Preference is given to those experienced in Women SHG development and the textile/handloom/handicrafts sector.

1. Promotes eco-friendly jute alternatives to plastic
2. Provides training, raw material, design, and marketing support
3. Generates sustainable employment for 10,800+ beneficiaries
4. Empowers women (over 70% of trainees will be women)
5. Offers backward and forward linkages for JDPs
6. Supports inmates of correctional homes and families of security personnel

Potential beneficiaries include artisans, women self-help groups (WSHGs), NGOs, cooperative society members, Trusts, correctional home inmates, and families of Police/Para-Military/Armed Forces Welfare Societies interested in JDP production.

The agency must have:

• An office of at least 250 sq. ft.- A JRCPC space of at least 500 sq. ft.- Basic amenities like telephone, computer/laptop, and email facilities

The scheme targets training around 18,000 individuals in the production of Jute Diversified Products, out of which more than 70% will be women.

Applications must be submitted online via the NJB website (https://www.jute.com), followed by the submission of hard copies with required documents to the Head or Regional Office of NJB as per jurisdiction.

Some key documents include:

1. Ownership document (MoU/ AoA of Companies/ Registered Deed of Partnership/ Registration of Societies (or) Trade License, etc., and Adhaar Card / Address Proof of the authorized representative of the agency).
2. Income Tax Return for last financial year along with PAN number
3. Details of PAN, GST returns for the last 3 financial years
4. Annual Reports for last three financial years
5. Audited financial statements for last three years
6. Any other documents establishing the credential of the agency
7. Other supporting documents ( Project experience certificates etc.)
8. Recommendation from Dist. Magistrate/Dist. Collector/DIC/ NABARD/ DRDA/BDO may be submitted
9. Details of experience in Trainings, Designing/ Product development, Production and Marketing of JDP sector including Award Won and details of its creativity, work done in the past in connection to the scope of the work suggested.
10. Proof of Experience and handling relevant activities to be mentioned;
11. An Concept / Approach note, (As per guidelines indicated below) highlighting the need of the quality training focusing on development of Jute Diversified Sector through product identification, quality training with design inputs, bulk production and market sales, promotion of these JDPs in domestic and international market.
12. An Undertaking from the Agency, that the JRCPC, if allotted, will be operated for atleast one year until and unless terminated by NJB earlier.

Training will focus on the design, development, production, and marketing of JDPs. It will include quality training with design inputs, product identification, and promotion strategies for domestic and international markets.

The scheme offers forward linkages by facilitating sales through Jute Retail Outlets, NJB-organized fairs, and exhibitions, and backward linkages by ensuring supply of raw materials through JRMB (Jute Raw Material Bank).
