Full official description
A group insurance scheme by MoMSME for khadi artisans (spinners and weavers). The scheme provides insurance cover against normal death, accidental death, permanent or partial disability of the insured artisan. Scholarships are provided to the insurer’s children studying in class 9th to 12th.
The artisan must be member of the approved vocation / occupation groups. This scheme was formulated by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in association with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).

- Permanent total disability (loss of 2 eyes/limbs): ₹50,000
- Partial disability (loss of 1 eye/limb): ₹25,000
- Free add-on: Scholarship of ₹300/quarter per child for up to 2 children studying in Classes 9–12

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
Khadi artisan (spinner or weaver), aged 18–59, enrolled as a member of a Khadi institution.
How to Apply
- To claim: the nominee of the deceased or disabled person must contact the nearest Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) office.
- Submit the original death certificate or disability certificate along with the Aadhaar card, income certificate, occupation proof, and bank details.
- The KVIC office processes the claim and coordinates with the insurance agency for disbursement.
