The "New Akanksha Scheme (Educational Loan)" is implemented by the Gujarat Thakor and Koli Vikas Nigam (GTKVN) under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to provide financial support for higher technical and professional education to students belonging to Thakor and Koli communities. Under this scheme, loans are provided at subsidized interest rates to students for pursuing graduate and postgraduate studies in fields such as engineering, medical, MBA, and MCA.
Benefits
- Education loan up to ₹15,00,000 (or actual course cost, whichever is lower)
- Low interest: 4% per annum for male students; 3.5% per annum for female students
- Covers tuition fees, books, equipment, hostel, food, travel, and insurance
- No upfront contribution required from the applicant

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)

- Must have secured merit-based admission in a recognized institution for MBA, MCA, MBBS, or undergraduate engineering (AICTE/IIT/MCI approved)
- Management quota admissions are not eligible
- At least 50% of loans reserved for families earning under ₹1,50,000/year

- Loan is not eligible in case of admission obtained under management quota.
