The "Palak Mata-Pita Yojana" introduced on 29th August, 2009 by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Gujarat, aims to provide monthly assistance of Rs. 3000/- is paid to the close relative, guardian or relative who is taking care of the orphaned children who are studying and whose mother and father are both deceased or whose father is deceased and the mother has remarried. This assistance is paid through DBT.
