Full official description

The scheme “Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)” with the component of "Construction of Plant/Storage of Minimum 20 Tonne Capacity", introduced by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to strengthen fish storage and cold chain infrastructure for better preservation and delivery of fish in a healthy condition. Through this scheme, financial assistance is provided to beneficiaries for the construction of ice plants/storage units with a minimum capacity of 20 tonnes, ensuring hygienic fish availability and higher returns for sellers. The scheme is implemented by the Commissioner of Fisheries of the State Governments, with 60% contribution from the Government of India and 40% contribution from the State Government.
