A scheme to provide financial assistance to Ex-Servicemen and their widows for helping them in educating their child (for maximum two children) up to graduation and also for widows to pursue Post Graduation degree.
Aim of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to up to a maximum of two dependent children of those ESM or their widows, up to the ranks of Havildar in the Army and equivalent in the Navy and Air Force, who are not in receipt of such benefit from from the State or his Employer. It is also applicable to widows for post-graduation degree course.

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
- Must be an ex-serviceman, their widow, or orphan dependent
- Rank of Havildar (Army) or equivalent in the Navy/Air Force, and below
- Children must be studying from Class 1 to graduation (not professional/technical courses like engineering or medicine)
- Widows can apply for a 2-year post-graduation degree course
- Applicant must not be receiving any education allowance from a state government or employer
- Applicable for the first two children only (with special provisions for twins or if a child passes away)
Exclusions
- Primarily for families in genuine financial need — financially well-off ESM families may not qualify
- Check with the Rajya Sainik Board for course eligibility and income limits

- Contact your district Zila Sainik Board (ZSB) for the current application cycle.
- Submit a completed application with the ex-serviceman's service details and the applicant's current course information.
- The ZSB verifies the application and financial need, then forwards it to the Rajya Sainik Board.

Can A Daughter Of Ex Servicemen Who Is Studying In College Apply For Scholarship Under This Scheme?
Yes. However, if either of the parents of girl is alive then they have to apply on behalf of daughter.
In Which Month One Can Apply For This Scheme?
One has to apply in the month of May for non-board classes, in July for the board classes 10th & 12th and in August for under-graduate course students.
