The "Scheme for Enhancement of Technical Competence and Manpower" is an umbrella scheme launched by the Industries and Mines Department, Gujarat under the Gujarat Industrial Policy. Effective from August 7th, 2020 to August 6th, 2025, it aims to bridge the industry’s skill gap, boost employment, and align workforce training with evolving technology and business needs. The component "Scheme of Financial Assistance for Tuition Fees for Enhancement of Skill" aims to support individuals in skill development by providing financial aid for training programs. It ensures access to industry-relevant training, enhancing employability and career growth opportunities.
Benefits
- Up to ₹15,000 for training programmes of 121 hours or more
- Up to ₹10,000 for training programmes of 61–120 hours
- Up to ₹5,000 for training programmes of 40–60 hours
- 100% fee coverage for BPL, physically handicapped, SC, ST, SEBC, and women candidates
- 75% fee coverage for all other eligible candidates
- Free GSRTC bus pass for trainees: 100% for BPL/SC/ST/SEBC/women; 75% for others
Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
- Training institute must have at least 5 years of experience in skill development or the relevant industry
- Training programme must be industry-responsive and recognised by skill development authorities
- First batch must start within 3 months of the sanction order
- Minimum 10 trainees per batch must complete training and obtain certification
- Trainees must not have received similar government assistance for the same course previously
- Training duration must not exceed 6 months (unless specifically authorised)
How to Apply
Step 1: Submit the application form to The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development(CED) for onward submission to the Screening Committee (applications are received twice a year in April and October). Step 2: A Committee consisting of the following members will scrutinize and appraise the proposals for feasibility and will submit its recommendations to the State Level Empowered Committee (SLEC) for consideration.
