Full official description
The scheme "Scheme of Assistance for Common Environment Infrastructure" is an umbrella scheme launched by the Industries and Mines Department, Gujarat under the Gujarat Industrial Policy. Effective from August 7th, 2020 to August 6th, 2025, it aims to boost industrial growth through financial assistance, modern technologies, and enhanced facilities for industrial parks and clusters. The component “Financial Assistance for Common Environmental Infrastructure Facilities” aims to support industries and organizations in establishing and upgrading environmental management infrastructure. It provides financial aid for projects that promote pollution control, waste management, and environmental sustainability.
Benefits
- Up to 40% financial assistance for private/general projects, capped at ₹50 crore
- Up to 80% assistance for Government Departments, PSUs, and Boards, capped at ₹50 crore
- When co-funded with Central Government, combined GoI + GoG support capped at 75%; institution must contribute at least 25%
💡 Why Startups Should Care
Common effluent treatment plants and shared environmental facilities are expensive but essential for industrial clusters to stay compliant. This scheme's substantial funding — up to 80% for government-backed projects — makes collective environmental infrastructure viable where individual compliance would be prohibitively costly.
