The "Shahidvir Kinariwaala Student Security Group Insurance Scheme" was launched by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme provides financial protection in case of accidental death or permanent disability to students or their guardians/heirs to help reduce the burden during unforeseen tragedies. The scheme covers students at universities, Government and Non-Government colleges, Gram Vidyapeeth GBTC colleges, and technical education institutes across the state.
Benefits
- Up to ₹1,00,000 financial assistance on accidental death or permanent total disability (loss of two limbs/eyes or one limb and one eye)
- 50% payout (up to ₹50,000) for permanent partial disability (loss of one limb or one eye)
- Coverage also includes death due to natural causes
- No premium charged to the student — scheme is government-funded

How to Apply
Step 1:**** The interested applicant should visit the college and request a hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the staff exclusively entrusted to issue and collect filled-in applications.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attestted, if required).
Step 3: Duly filled and signed application form along with the documents send it to the office of the commissioner of Higher Education through the college in which you are studying.
