The scheme "Sharodotsav Pandit Nandan Mehta: Plan for Conducting Classical Music Competition and Ceremony" by the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to preserve and promote the rich heritage of classical music and percussion through a state-level competitive platform dedicated to the memory of the legendary percussionist Pt. Nandan Mehta. A three-day classical music and percussion competition is held every year on February 26, the death anniversary of Pt. Mehta, where outstanding artists are recognized and awarded monetary prizes for their exceptional performances. The scheme is implemented by the Gujarat State Sangeet Natak Academy.
