The Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) Summer Internship Programme was launched by the Department of Space, Government of India. The scheme aims to provide a platform for highly motivated students and teachers to interact with PRL’s scientists, gaining exposure to the lab’s research areas and facilities. Participants will work on projects in fundamental science, technology, and their societal applications. The program offers hands-on experience in real research projects, helping young talents shape their career paths.

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
- Must be an Indian citizen
- Students: currently pursuing or recently completed (within 6 months) an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a recognized university in India or abroad
- Minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32/10 at all academic levels
- Eligible disciplines: optics, laser physics, space physics, geology, geophysics, atmospheric sciences, environmental sciences, meteorology, chemistry, ocean sciences, and related subjects
- KVPY/DST INSPIRE fellows given preference
- Teachers: must hold a PhD in physics, astronomy, space physics, geology, or related fields
- Teachers: minimum 5 years of teaching experience at graduate/postgraduate level with demonstrated research interest (publications or ongoing projects)
Exclusions
- No stipend or financial assistance is provided
- PRL does not cover medical or transport expenses
