The scheme "To Increase Fish Seed Production and Inland Fisheries Equipment in Non-Tribal Areas" introduced by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department, Gujarat, aims to enhance fish seed production and promote inland fisheries in non-tribal areas. It provides financial assistance for fish farming, fish seed rearing, and procurement of essential fisheries equipment, benefiting individuals, societies, and self-help groups involved in inland fisheries.

Benefits

  • Fish seed rearing: ₹90–₹460 per 1,000 fish seed depending on stage (spawn to fry/fingerlings)
  • Fish seed/prawn seed stocking: 50% subsidy on seed cost and transportation
  • Boats and nets: 50% subsidy — up to ₹7,500 for tin boat-net; up to ₹15,000 for FRP boat-net
  • Fish cage culture: 40% subsidy (General) up to ₹1.2 lakh; 60% subsidy (SC/ST) up to ₹1.8 lakh
  • New fish pond construction: 40% subsidy (General) up to ₹2.8 lakh; 60% subsidy (SC/ST) up to ₹4.2 lakh
